TCB and a variety of tourism stakeholders hosted the Scuba Diver Girls on a press visit, May 17-24, 2014. The Scuba Diver Girls were on assignment to blog and post on their social media accounts about their experience on Bonaire, and the results of the Diving For Bonaire Treasure Challenge.
The Scuba Diver Girls is one of the top blogs and social media channels for scuba divers. Their viral social media network including their blog, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube accounts have an audience of over 700,000 followers. The 20 photos that were posted on social media of the Scuba Diver Girls on Bonaire received over 130,191 Likes, 9,012 Shares and 1,856 comments.
Throughout the week, they dove with dive operators Belmar Oceanfront Apartments, Bruce Bowker’s Carib Inn, Buddy Dive Resort, Caribbean Club Bonaire, Dive Friends Bonaire, Divi Flamingo Beach Resort and Casino, Tropical Divers and VIP Diving, to collect the eight DiveCaches that were part of the Challenge.
The winners of the Diving For Bonaire Treasure Challenge were announced at a private cocktail reception held at Eddy’s Restaurant on Friday, May 24, for all of the sponsors of Challenge. Congratulations to the winners: Grand Prize winner Lisa Newlands, 2 roundtrip airline tickets and a 7 nights’ stay at Captain Don’s Habitat; 2nd Prize winner Ryan Atkinson, 5 nights’ stay at Bruce Bowker’s Carib Inn; 3rd Prize winner: Roger Veteto, 3 nights’ stay at Hotel Roomer.
