Busy Cruise season ahead

QUEEN ELISABETH 24-1-2013Tourism Corporation Bonaire is preparing for the new Cruise Season which starts November 13th 2013 until April 22nd 2014. For the current 2013 – 2014 peak winter cruise season, Bonaire is projecting approximately 170,000 passenger arrivals, which is an increase of 20,000 passengers compared to the previous high season. This will be a busy Cruise season and downtown Kralendijk will be bustling. Drivers will need to observe the closed of traffic areas.

In order to provide better service for the Cruise passengers, downtown will again be closed for vehicles whenever there are more than 1200 passengers per day. The closed of areas will continue to be the intersection at City Café and the BC parking area. When there are two Cruise Ships in port, the intersection of Kaya C.E.B. Hellmond and Kaya Gilberto F. Croes will also be closed for traffic.

All the companies that adhere to the TCB Cruise operating standards will be wearing a badge which allows them to operate within the City Center boundaries during the Cruise Season. These badges are in production and will be distributed at the beginning of November.
